Preparing for the Sudan

Hi
Welcome to our new blog!
The purpose of this blog is to keep you up to date with our new venture into the Sudan. We are due to move to Juba, Southern Sudan, at the end of January 2009 to work with the Episcopal Church of the Sudan in the field of theological education.
Exactly what we shall be engaged in will depend on what we find when we arrive, and the needs and opportunities we discover.
To prepare ourselves at this stage we are trying to dispose of everything we own that will cost too much to store. So we are holding a Garage Sale next week (Saturday morning, 6th December) here at the Bridport Rectory. All the proceeds of this will go towards a project, yet to be identified, in the Sudan.
We are delighted with some donations already received towards this. We are most impressed especially since we have not said what we will spend it on yet! Thanks you for your trust. We want to mention for special thanks:
  • St Mary's Church Bridport who have given £150 and
  • The Woodman Inn who have given us £100 from their charity quiz night.
Very many thanks to them and others who have given us private donations.
It is all going into our account under the name of "The Listening People" which will hold this in Britain until we have decided on where it is to be spent.
Watch this space for photos of our Garage Sale!
